On the fence? Here are some testimonials from past Courthouse Crits:

Mark Steger understands why the Vancouver Courthouse Crit has experienced rapid growth in only its second year. “The riders talk and they figure it out,” said the Tigard, Ore., resident. “It begins to take a life of its own.” The eight-turn, figure-eight shaped course — unique from other races that feature fewer turns and more uniform shapes, organizers said — offers few passing opportunities and requires constant strategy. “It’s like a chess match out here,” said Shannon Skerritt, who finished fifth in Sunday’s Pro 1/2 event. “You have to pick where you pass three or four curves ahead so you can line everything up. It’s not a course where you can fall asleep and expect to do well.” Evan Ecken, a professional rider from Lake Oswego, Ore., discovered that in the Pro 1/2. Hoping to hold the lead going into the final set of turns, Ecken wound up trailing and was forced to make a difficult pass while snaking through the final two turns to win the race.

Thanks for putting on such a great race. I think it is really one of the very best courses of the whole year. I know how much work it is to put on a race and on behalf of Team Rubicon we would like to personally thank you.

-Casey Deck

The course was great, it was well run and a lot of fun. I hope that our women’s team will make it a priority race for next year. Hope Strode
Very cool, thanks very much. Mighty grand race, cheers!

… you guys did a great sponsor job a(t) the Courthouse Crit last weekend. My son and I raced the event, and we had a great time. Thankfully it cleared up and the wet pavement dried!

-Scott McElroy

Thanks I had a great time, and thought the racing was super!

The kids had a great time (riding in the tandem ride). Mikey can’t wait for next year’s event. I was amazed at the number turn out.
Great event.

-Jan Summers

I was there. It was great. I came early and saw the tandem riders with the WSSB kids. I am glad you added that in! Nancy Funk
Bob and I love watching the Crit and we both think this event really adds to the “flavor” of our town.

I had so much fun. Let me know if I can help in the future!

Today at the Vancouver Crit I witnessed something very cool that I want to share with ya all. I arrived just as the Jr Women were finishing their last lap. I was standing at the final corner. I saw two riders come into the last corner and both went down. Because they were Jr Women I expected maybe crying or at least some tears…..NO WAY….they jumped to their feet and one said to the other “Come on, lets finish” they grabbed their bikes and RAN to the finish line, ~ 50 meters away!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!
